Hi, I’m Mary. I create unique tattoos and unconventional drawings that reflect my personal perspective on the world. Art has always been my passion, and I strive to capture the humour, beauty, and absurdity that I see in everyday life. In 2011, I graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Waterloo, “ON”. Shortly after, I made the move to “Nelson, BC”, where I now live and work as a junior tattoo artist. Beyond tattooing, I also own and run a commercial cleaning business in the evenings - an endeavour that led me to adopt the name niight janiitor. The name is a nod to my journey: making a living as an artist is tough, but I’m determined to carve out my space in the world with my drawings. I identify as a queer femme artist; my work is deeply influenced by my experiences and observations. I believe art is a tool for self-expression, and I approach each piece with a sense of humour and a love for the strange and surreal moments of modern life. Thank you for visiting my site - I’m excited to create something uniquely yours!

BASIC TATTOO AFTERCARE
The second skin bandage that I placed on your tattoos can & should be worn for 3-5 days. It seals in your tattoo keeping it free from germs & friction in the critical healing stage. Do not submerge your new tattoo in water at all during this period & keep out of pools/ saunas/ hot tubs/ excessive sweating for 3 weeks, 4 weeks is even better. Do your best to keep your new tattoos away from hot/warm moist environments, as this can harbor infections. Also do your best to keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight for the first month of healing. If part of your tattoo becomes exposed, remove the second skin bandage even if it is before the 3-5 days & follow next instructions. A good place to remove the second skin bandages is in the shower- that way you can wash your tattoos immediately after. Following removal of your second skin bandages, wash your tattoos twice a day for 10 days with cold or lukewarm water with a liquid mild unscented soap. Let air dry or pat dry with a clean towel/paper towel & follow up with an unscented lotion twice per day. Wear clean, loose clothes over your tattoos while they are fresh healing for that 10 day period. Following that first month of healing, always rock sunscreen, preferrably with a high SPF, and continue to moisturize your tattoos daily.
