Hi, I’m Mary. I create unique tattoos and unconventional drawings that reflect my personal perspective on the world. Art has always been my passion, and I strive to capture the humour, beauty, and absurdity that I see in everyday life.
In 2011, I graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Waterloo, “ON”. Shortly after, I made the move to “Nelson, BC”, where I now live and work as a junior tattoo artist. Beyond tattooing, I also own and run a commercial cleaning business in the evenings - an endeavour that led me to adopt the name niight janiitor. The name is a nod to my journey: making a living as an artist is tough, but I’m determined to carve out my space in the world with my drawings.
I identify as a queer femme artist; my work is deeply influenced by my experiences and observations. I believe art is a tool for self-expression, and I approach each piece with a sense of humour and a love for the strange and surreal moments of modern life.
